Degree Show

The main part of my degree show was a performance piece involving drawing and a projected live feed.

It’s probably better to watch a video of it than read a description:

The ideas and motivation for all of this came from the way technology makes remote communication easier but also more removed from the body. This seems to have become an underlying theme in my work over the last few years – frustrated attempts to communicate with other humans, with technology becoming a barrier or filter.

Here’s the “site” of the performance (thanks to Áine for the photo)

The drawings themselves were all ripped in some way as part of the performance – none of them are intact. I’m not sure what to do with them now, the act itself is what was important so during the show I disregarded them entirely… here are a few of them (there’s about 26 in total)
